Lanark County makes health and safety in the workplace a priority! Did you know that for three years running Lanark County has had zero WSIB lost time workplace accidents? This is a remarkable team accomplishment that we are committed to continue!
All new employees receive a comprehensive orientation session. Health and safety is a key component of the orientation and topics include a review of our Corporate Health and Safety Policy and WHMIS. Supervisors provide the necessary job-specific training to perform the required tasks of a position in a healthy and safe manner.
Student employees are required to complete the nationally recognized Passport to Safety Program. This online assessment of worker rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act provides student workers with a consistent level of understanding related to the workforce in Canada. Upon completion of the program, it is valid for three years.
