[+] What is a Child Care Fee Subsidy?
A Child Care Fee Subsidy is intended to help families with the high cost of child care. It is available to families living in Lanark County who financially qualify and are determined to be eligible.
The amount of the subsidy provided to families is determined through the use of an “Income Test”. The calculations are based on Line 236 of the most recent Federal Notice of Assessment for each parent.
If you are not sure whether you qualify for a Child Care Fee Subsidy, you may also want to explore the Child Care Fee Calculator to find out approximately how much your monthly parental contribution would be towards your child care costs.

[+] How to Maintain Your Subsidy
You must pay for your monthly parental contribution. The fee is paid directly to the child care agency, and not to the Child Care Fee Subsidy unit.
You must report all changes in your personal and financial situation.
You must advise your Subsidy Coordinator of any changes to the following:
- Address change and phone number
- E-mail address
- Marital status
- Change in activity (recognized need/reason for child care)
- Birth of new children/parental leave
- Changes in employment
- Change in income
- Closure of Ontario Works / Ontario Disability Support Program File
- Child custody and access
Failure to report changes may result in the termination of your subsidy, and may also result in an overpayment.
